There has been a good amount of Bonefish in Biscayne bay but while driving across the bay on Tuesday early morning I thought there would be a slim chance of finding fish on a rainy, cloudy, blustery, nasty, windy, no sun glasses morning, get the point?

I was way wrong....

The moment I got up on the poling platform there were Bonefish tails everywhere in a 15 mph wind. There were at least three large schools of at least 50 fish that I saw .The window this would be short however with a strong thunderstorm closing in on us from the southeast. We hooked up to large Bonefish to have the hook pull out, and plenty of more shots on them for another hour. After escaping the storm and running to the north we headed back over to the same spot but the bones had cooled off a little.  We poled another flat with another storm bearing down on us to find 30 to 40 bones all over 10 pounds, a blown cast and a bolt of lightning and we were out of there!

The next spot we went to there were smaller Tarpon of 60 pounds rolling everywhere.....but here we go again another storm coming at us. We managed to get one Tarpon to eat a fly and we had him on for about 10 minutes before we broke him off and headed for the dock. We were off the water by 11 a.m. and had a ton of  shots on fish and a couple nice hookups despite the storms.

Snook fishing at night around Downtown Miami is good on the outgoing tide. The bait of choice is a secret and you would not believe it but they have been eating real well.

Here is a photo of Jason Sullivan with a nice Miami Snook caught Tuesday night
Good Luck!  Capt. Jim Hale
