From Henderson Harbor all the way to Sodus Bay good numbers of brown trout are being found in 80 to 130 feet of water.
We have had numerous trips where we landed over12 browns in under 6 hours. Throw in a few lake trout, steelhead and a nice Atlantic salmon and you have the makings of the good ole days!

This big hen caught by Greg May helped us to a 7th place finish out of over 90 boats in Mike's Little Salmon River Challenge last Saturday.

Many are starting to ask where the salmon are and that is a good question. If you run deep 300 to 500 FOW put in your time and fish 140 to 170 feet down you will take some nice adult salmon. They are just scattered. It is what it is
The north shore is on fire, catching our salmon and they will move south very shortly as they will start their pre spawn staging over the next few weeks.

Bass fishing in and around Mexico bay is providing some decent catches. Fish small jigs tipped with Mister Twister grubs. Slowly bounce the jigs off rocky bottoms and work the shoals and drop-offs. Crabs and worms are always a good bet. Also try the areas around 4 mile point in Scriba and the green can just west of Oswego. Worms and crayfish drifted along the bottom are always the top producers there, but many anglers prefer to cast or troll small crankbaits.

Bass and northern pike action on Sandy pond and Lakeview Marsh, especially along the weed lines has been pretty good. Cast spinnerbaits, rubberworms, small crankbaits and of course don't forget the jitterbugs and buzzbaits for some hot top water action.

Oneida Lake fishing is still excellent, especially on the west end of the lake. You can catch pickerel, bass, catfish and perch. If you want walleye fish in deeper water, troll purple and black Hot-n-Tots and jr. thundersticks at a depth of 25-38 ft.

Now is a great time to schedule a fishing trip. The kids are out of school, the fishing is excellent and area captains are available for lake charters.
This is Captain Troy Creasy, Good Fishing.
