Its still June on the Susquehanna River and the Smallmouth Bite is still the worst of the year as always. There is nothing wrong, but a phenominon that happens every year when the crayfish molt. The Susquehanna is absolutely loaded with Crayfish and the Smallmouth have all the slow moving protein rich food they need, in the millions of Crayfish that grace the bottom right now. I would strongly suggest you wait till July to hit the Susquehanna River if you want to have a good day for Smallmouth.

The Susquehanna River Catfish bite on the other hand is very strong. A young angler this past week landed a 35 lb monster Flathead Catfish and several other 25-31 lbers
