The fish are biting! They are still moving around a lot, but when you find them, they are eating.Fall is one of my favorite times of year to fish because there is not as many people fishing as there are in the warmer seasons. Many changes are occurring.

Many tarpon are still in the Bay, and they are still biting. On the slowest day we’ve had recently, we still hooked five fish.We will just have to wait until next week to see if the cooler weather changes tarpon fishing.I really don’t think it is going to get cold enough to move them too far.Check out the picture! This tarpon is just one of the five we hooked in a little over one hour.

The redfish have been unpredictable lately. Some days they haven’t wanted to bite and other days they devour the bait. Many of these fish have been in extremely shallow water, which makes it harder to catch them. A lot of times you have to play a waiting game when they get in shallow water.A good fisherman has to know where to be set up and when to be there to catch them.

Big snook are showing up, and after the upcoming cold front, they should be biting. We caught a great number of fish last week. They are moving in from the beaches to the flats.Over the next few weeks this bite should just keep getting better.

Although the sharks should move out of the Bay when the weather cools off, the kingfish should show up.Sharks love to feed on kingfish. You can catch a few kingfish off the beaches, cut one up, and put it back in the water for bait for sharks.Do that and you’ll catch a big one. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
