The bait migrations is in full effect from Marco island to Shark river. The finger mullet are pouring thru and some into whitewater bay and some are getting around Cape Sable into Florida Bay. There are fish every where specially Tarpon! The Snook bite is very good as is the Redfish/Trout fishing.

I am at Flamingo today with Bryan his brother Allen and his 2 sons Ian and Ethan. There was a big storm on the ride down but it cleared up to be a beautiful day dry, still winds and hot. We started out on some Tarpon, but only had a couple follow ups so we moved on to another spot. I had netted some finger mullet so we put them to work, Ian hooked a 20 lb. Tarpon and it was awesome to watch this little guy go at it. We had several other bites but no more tarpon so we moved on. I spotted some bigger rolling Tarpon and schools of big Jacks busting up the bait pods so we stopped. They caught Jacks every cast for and hour and were having plenty of fun. I had a bait off the back and when it went off Knew it was a Tarpon. The little guy Ian grabbed it but the fish came off after the initial run. I just try to keep the kids busy by catching fish and they did. The next spot was for Trout and the had a ball catching them 4 at a time on every cast. I asked if they would like to try something else and they agreed. We rigged gulp shrimp on jigs and dropped them to a pile in 8 feet of water, it didn't take long and the Snappers were coming into one after another. Allen hooked a nice Red Grouper and then got hit by something that really pulled some drag, I guessed Goliath Grouper at first but the fish broke him off so we'll never know. we ended the day fishing for Sharks but for some reason the weren't responding to our baits so we called it a morning and headed in.

I am pre fishing today for a tournament next week, I am with my buddy Mitch who is one of my partners. My game plan was to run al the way to Lostmans river area and work my way back to Flamingo. It didn't work that way because of this giant storm sitting of the beaches and moving north so we slowly worked our way up there and caught a lot of fish on the way. The bite was good as the storm sat out there and the fish respond to our lures. The Snook bite was very good although they were just under slot size! We worked our way up around Shark Point and got trapped by the lightning, so we hit deep in the back country. The Tarpon work busting our Top water lures but we had to get out of the weather, tough to leave them when they are eating. While back there we trolled 6 inch X Raps hoping for big Snook and nailed a 30 lb Goliath, that's when it got so bad we could see the front of the boat. We ducked into a pocket and eventually made our way to a chickee and hid with some other friends back there. The weather broke for a while and we ran back up there and hooked several Tarpon, Sharks, and Snook. It wasn't a pretty day but it was a good fishing day we stopped at a few spots on the ride home and caught another 35 lb goliath and then I got hit by a 20 lb plus snook which inhaled my lure after chasing it down for 10 feet.
It was an awesome bite but he frayed thru my leader instanly. Mitch caught a nice snook and then I had another big Snook following my lure. I watched him come after it, my line snapped on the hook set as it swam away shaking it's head. I wasn't to upset 4 bites in a 15 minute stop. We headed in it was really late but we figured we caught every species except Redfish today and hooked more than one of each.

Let me get you hooked up, if your interested call me at 305 333 8149
