Hello everyone! Captain Matt here from Anna Maria Island with a quick updated fishing report and forecast. The weather has been amazing all winter long, 70 to 80 degrees most days. We are having early spring conditions and for that reason the water temperatures are in the low 70s. Spring fishing is on and we are hammering the fish inshore and offshore!
Inshore the Snook fishing has been excellent: 40 to 60 a day this past week along with a few Reds and plenty of Trout, if you are looking for some fish to eat.
Offshore the Snapper, Grouper, Tunny, and Cobia have been on fire, especially the Snapper which are my favorite fish to eat! With the water warming I expect the Kingfish, Permit and Mackerel to move in full force any day.
We have a few spring days open. Let me know asap if you are interested! Also Tarpon season starts May 1st and runs till the middle of July; open days are filling quickly if you are planning for Tarpon. For those of you that already have your days planned I look forward to fishing with you. I hope this message finds everyone well and we all have a great 2017 on the water.
