Giant red caught on record cold day
Permalink

John Valenti was down from North Carolina and was determined to fish on Fri Feb 20.  The high temp this day was 42 degrees...record cold for Jax.  However, he caught this 30+ pound red on a jig and shrimp.  Braided line with floricarbon leader was used as well.  He fished the same area two weeks prior and was spooled with lighter line.  Has us all wondering if this was the fish or at least one like it.

Location:  on intercoastal waterway near the St. Johns River fork/crossing.
