October fishing in Chokoloskee/Everglades National Park

This week has been a success fishing the gulfside.
Considering the minus 3 and 4 tides, the snook were around in numbers.
Once the mullett leave,and the colder water arrives,the water will clear up.
Right now wth the NNE winds to 15, it's kept it stirred up, along with the mullet.
Considering all factors involved, we caught 1 oversize snook,many in the 3-6 pound range,reds,trout,pompano, mackeral, and just way too many lady fish.
As we were going out 1 morning, a pompano of about 4 pounds, jumped and hit Bob ight in the chest at about 30 MPH,too bad it made it's way back into the water,or we had more for dinner.
We also got into tarpon of about 40 pounds.
In the backcountry fishing is also picking up with snook and tarpon being the species I target and strive to catch.
This past few week we've had 2 tournments which I hate to see,in a National Park nun the less.
Most guides would probably disagree,and to their defence, as well as mine,we all need a pay day.
No,I didn't fish either,but was asked too.
Thanks to the FMC, as well as the NPS,snook will finally get a reprive at least for a year,god know they need it after the freeze.
