--------------------------------------------------------

Well, September is here and with it brings completely different fishing conditions, due to winds and storms the big fish begin to slow down off the end and the fishing on the surf begins to pick up again compared to the hot still days of August.
Black Drum, Reds, Trout and Whiting are coming up in the surf and the Kings have slowed up due to wind and wave conditions off the T-end.
This King season will be drawing to a close in a month or so but it was a pretty productive season nonetheless.
Kings averaging 20 to 33 lbs and a few 40 plus pounders brought Over The Rail. Flounder has been off a bit and the Pompano have backed off as well, But with all these storms coming by it should create new cuts on the bottom and bring in the fish in the surf.
I talked with the Pier management and they mentioned that the weekend crowd has slacked off due to the City of Jax Beach charging $5.00 parking on Fri, Sat, & Sun. Apparently it will be a permanent thing and so now if you show up to the parking lots after 9:00am on Fri, Sat or Sun you will have to pay the $5.00 fee but the good thing is you will always find a parking spot.

The (FPAA) Florida Pier Anglers Association Pier & Surf Fishing Club will hold their September Club meeting on the 16th at the Cracker Barrel rest off J.
Turner Butler & I-95 South. Meetings begin at 7:00pm and ALL are welcome to attend. This month we will be making our Annual Donation to Dreams Come True and will be discussing the election of new officers for the upcoming 2011 year.
