Went to richland and fished the yakima river on thursday, friday and sunday. Me and my brother in law used our caddis float tubes to float about a 7mile section of river. every day we got in under the twin bridges and floated to a boat launch just before the 240 bridge. The river currents were perfect, it was about an 8 to 9 hour float each day. Between the both of us our three day total was 72 smallmouth, 22 thursday, 28 friday and 22 sunday. My best day being friday where i caught 21 if those, and these numbers are just what we got into our float tube, their was many many more fish caught that was lost while bringing it in. My best bait was a ,big bite bait 6in green pumpkin squirrel tail worm, texas rigged with a 1/16 ounce bullet weight. My brother in laws caught most of his on a weightless kevin van dam perfect plastic worm, green pumpkin with red flake. I had a very good time, that was my first experiance float tubing. I will definitely go back soon. sorry no pics due to losing my camera in the river, but most fish were really small, guessing that most of the big ones went back to the columbia after spawning.
