Stellwagen Bank - Sal****er Fishing Report

The tuna have finally shown up in full force and Crimson Tide Charters, and my good friend Dom Petrarca oc Coastal Charters Sportfishing have been one of the first boats to hunt down and capture bluefin in 2009, and now again in 2010.

With reports of Capt Dom getting his first on thursday I had to get out there and get my own. Dom and Joe met at my slip in Green Harbor and we were off into the twilight. Hours later after dilligently pounding a historically productive piece of water we had the drag singing in the Tiagra. I took the rod on this one, knowing full well that as the captain of the boat I probably wouldnt have the chance to fight a fish for the rest of the season.

10 minutes of mano-e-mano and a harpoon shot later there was a beautifull 70" bluefin bleeding out on the deck. The Ice has been broken...

The next day, myself, my co-captain Chris, and a few friends headed out to get the tuna bug out of thier systems. It didnt take long as by 9 am we had another hardtail beating the decks of AKULA. This one taped out at 72", and was full of teenage attitude. What a great start to the season, and hopefully a precursor for the rest of the year. Capt. Fred, Crimson Tide Charters.
