Fished the intercoastal waterway and inside the creeks between JTB and Beach. The day was beautiful but the fishing was slow....unless you found surface activity and signs of fish. Fished two hours with no bites with live mud minnows, live shrimp and cut blue crab.
My last stop was a deeper area with moving water inside the creeks that connect to the waterway. I keep switching baits as I could not figure out why not one fish was pulled in. As soon as I switched to a 1/4 jig (white head) and tipped it with a shrimp (head off), I got two nice fiesty 16 inch reds. Almost back to back. It was almost dead low tide, so I headed back out to not get stuck and watch some football.
