In Jacksonville, there are many good places to fish from shore.  Here are the recommended places:

1) Beach Blvd bridge, near Beach Marina.  Go to Rick's Bait shop on nearby 20th street for the most current advice.  I would get the following baits: 1) frozen blue crab, fished on the bottom for redfish.  2) mud minnows and shimp on a float for sea trout 3) shrimp or mud minnows fished on the bottom for reds and flounder

In the surf:  You can use cut squid on the bottow to catch small shark after small shark.  Use fiddler crabs to catch red fish in the surf.

Good luck!

Also Jacksonville Beach pier should get productive for whiting and other fish.
