Had a great time with the redfish today. We were able to locate a few large schools and they bit for us for a few hours. Even caught some on topwater lures when they were riled up good. We used pogies and freelined them with circle hooks in the tail. This made the bait swim on top of the water so almost every bite we got was an explosion on the surface. We had multiple double hookups and a couple triple hookups. Most of the reds were in the 3-5 lb range, but we were able to bring two just over the slot limit to the boat. After leaving the redfish schools we went to one more spot where we were able to put a nice 23" trout in the boat. After that we called it a day and headed back in.
